Sounds too me like the original investor is coming after you (ben), and after pretty much bailing on the project (for what ever reasons) and not having anything to show them for it, now your coming after Mike.
If you've been this caviler with Mike and taking 1, 1.5, 2, years, or who knows how long. I'm inclined to think what you did with the rest of the capital they put forward.
Regardless I don't have a dog in this fight, but to me. It seems no matter what Mike did or didn't do. (By the way your story keeps changing, and your lack of communication skills, and your disappearance) You eventually were going to screw it up some how, and now your chickens have came home to roost. 2cents
