Okay in all honesty as someone who deals with this kind of thing a lot...
If you look at it from his point of view, he deals with people trying to buy alcohol all the time. A lot of them are going to be underage kids, a few of them are going to be legal aged people trying to buy for themselves, and a small handful will be the "shoulder taps" where people who aren't old enough ask people who ARE legal age to buy alcohol for them.
I've had to have girls come in a couple times to show ID because the person behind the counter thought I was trying to get some underage (under 21) girl drunk. Never been the case but it definitely happens.
Now that my windows are too dark to see through it doesn't happen anymore but they're just doing their job, liquor violations are nothing to fuck with, most of them are minimum 2,000 dollars + you lose the ability to work around liquor forever.
