Piracy sucks when it happens to you - but at the same time, it's a MAJOR information gateway, it creates entire Industries, it allows trash to be put away and the best to rise to the top - and it allows for everyone to play the game.

Fair use for example: "accounted for 23 percent of real economic growth"

http://www.ccianet.org/index.asp?sid...8&evtflg=False

"It found companies benefiting from limitations on copyright-holders’ exclusive rights, such as “fair use” – generated revenue of $4.7 trillion in 2007 – a 36 percent increase over 2002 revenue of $3.4 trillion."

While this is fair use, it really makes no difference... when we want to see how powerful this side of the 'net can be.

If anything Piracy made it harder for shit Companies to rise to the top simply because they have the marketing dollars and it allowed the proper Companies like Adobe to sling shot straight to the top....because that's what the people called for.
well, i've yet to see any official adobe statement as such. and based on who their target market is and the quality of the product, the success of the product is based on the quality, not the fact that script kiddies can crack it and have that on their box to show off their hacking skillz eh.
