Otherwise it would be too easy for someone to say something, be banned for that, take the penalty and then everybody else would just use that statement from that moment on, as PROOF. And all reasonable persons easily realize that won't work.

I have no clue about what the normal banning time is, but to not allow hearsay seems very reasonable and sound and for that I applaud Eric!
