There's a reason why certain beer comes mostly in bottles, and even then there is a reason for the colors.
The sun and heat effect your bottled beer in different ways, it stays fresher longer the less sunlight it sees.
You're always going to get the tin can taste no matter what you drink if it's from a can. But it will usually stay "fresher" longer in a can especially if you heat cycle it a lot (like moving it from a cooler to your truck then back into a fridge a couple times).
There's a reason most liquor comes in glass-style bottles. It preserves the taste, especially in stuff like Vodka that most manufacturers take great pride in the flavor (or lack thereof) of their product.
If you've ever had a "skunky" beer that's within it's expiration date, it's been heat cycled a few too many times and has gone bad due to that.
