Propecia can work for some by blocking conversion of testosterone to DHT via the 5ar enzyme. The problem with this, is that DHT is an important hormone and lowering those levels, systemically, is kind of like using a sledge hammer to kill an ant.

DHT is an androgenic hormone, responsible for aggression, sex drive, etc. Screwing with DHT via Propecia can contribute to depression, sexual impotence, memory fog, cognition issues, etc.

Be careful with that shit. I'd rather be bald than have a full head of hair without any interest in having sex.

There is no FDA approved topical anti-androgen available... so rather than being able to put some kind of cream on your scalp to block DHT in an isolated area... people are left to take a pill that blocks conversion to DHT throughout their entire body.
