i agree, but I didn't think we were talking about customer appreciation

i assumed we were taking about turning off a customer from buying

(thus putting the membership description below the JOIN button as pictured in the screenshot above.)

for those of you that are missing the point here

customers don't like recurring billing, period, so when you spell it out for them it has a tendency to turn off the customer from buying

(this is due to the fact that so many customers have been burned by sponsors in the past, made it nearly impossible to cancel, cross sells, etc etc...)

many of you were not around (or maybe never noticed) but back before VISA started the crackdown like in 03 or 04, these CCBill descriptors were very customizable, some people took advantage of them i suppose some didn't

none the less after the new VISA regs came out these descriptions were no longer customizable

before, CCBill required you to put your own rebilling disclaimer on before, i suppose people abused that and didn't do it or buried it at the bottom of their join page

after the regs changed is when these very detailed descriptions became built in so to speak into the ccbill script

this changed conversion rates drastically

for example:

before the regs you could just have: "3 day trial" with no asterisk and no "then 29.95 every 30 days" description etc etc

all you had to have was a disclaimer somewhere on your join page that said something like: "All trial memberships will rebill at 29.95 every 30 days"

and you could put this in very small font, basically anywhere
