No offense to the O.P. but people have been saying these things long before tube sites and repeatedly over the past decade. There has always been 'free'. There has also always been theft.
As Robbie has said, right now this industry is facing a 'perfect storm' which includes credit card limits being cut, the economy, theft on a grand scale, a decade of flooding the 'free', studios no longer producing new content, affiliates heading back to Burger King, and a mass exodus from the industry.
That does not even touch on the fact the internet has changed, and there are simply more things on it (other than porn) trying to get people's time and attention and repeat business. The point being, there is no single one adult industry boogie man that is killing it. Nor a simple light switch to fix it.
