$5 tipper is well known to all drivers. When I could come in and rip off the tag to hang up before a run, if it was dooglas (for example ) I would be kicking that night.
The problem is 60% do not tip zip. That is the problem with that job. Oh yeah, I knew every good tipper in our area. They literally support it all. Because the only money was in the tips for delivery guys.

A friend of mine lived in southern California for a while and worked part time as a pizza deliver driver. He said the same thing. Everyone knew who the good tippers were and they would jump to deliver to them and stop at those places first if they were delivering to more than one place.
He also lived near Camp Pendleton and he said whenever the Marines would call in an order nobody would volunteer to deliver and the manager would have to draw names from a hat. The reason was the guys would order a bunch of pizzas and they would never tip. He said once he delivered 16 pizzas to them and didn't even get a single dollar for a tip.
I can understand the service guys not having a lot of money, but you would think they could come up with an extra buck or two especially when they ordered so much. . . but I guess they felt like since they were ordering so much they didn't have to tip.
