No need to go down the whole list..
Was he a better choice than McCain, possibly.
I would've voted for Hillary Clinton. It would've been my choice to see a woman with real political experience in office rather than what we have today. A junior senator from a basically corrupt democratic state with his only management experience running a daycare for wayward adults.

Given the choice I too would have voted for Clinton over Obama. I also agree that he has added some turds to the sandwich. I think his major failure has been that he saw the super majority and decided to push hard to get things through that the democrats have wanted for decades instead of focusing on solving the problems at hand. His number one priority should have been the economy and jobs. We shouldn't have seen him doing health care and gitmo and don't ask don't tell and other things first. It should have been jobs first and everything else afterwards.
We didn't have a great choice when it got down to him and McCain. The choice was the guy with very little experience or the guy that might die in his first year and leave a crazy woman in charge.
Like I said, I think he started off rough, but I think he is coming around and starting to get his feet under him. He is a populist and needs to get over that, his approval rating won't be going up much from where it is now no matter what he does. Pretty much every president hovers around 50%. He needs to forget trying to make everyone happy and just do the job.
