I agree, but... I had a girlfriend take me to see the Tubes in Brighton in 1979, and I thought they were okay, but past their expiration date. I loved the opening act though--Squeeze--who made some great pop records in the late 70's/early 80's.

I also went to see West Coast rock bank, Spirit, at the Finsbury Park Rainbow in early 1978, and sat in the bar during the two opening acts--the first one was a brand new band named The Police.
