It is my understanding that there is an exodus of illegals from Arizona...to what extent I doubt that anyone knows...but if ICE will not deport illegals that are detained in Arizona the state will either have to let them go or go to the expense of providing the manpower...facilities and funding to keep them detained. I don't know if that would be more or less expensive for the State than whatever it costs them otherwise. I would think it would definitely slowly decrease the influx of illegals into the State...but of course will affect other states.

I'm sure once they start enforcing it (regardless of what they end up doing with the illegals once they have them in custody) word will spread quick and those that would have gone into Arizona will now go into NM, Texas and Cali.
To me the law isn't going to be all that effective until all the states in that area have similar laws and then they have the money and manpower to actually enforce it. On top of that they need to do something about securing the borders. As it is now they can deport someone from Arizona and a few days later they will just sneak into Cali or NM or somewhere else
