I would guess the average cam girl doesn't make a ton of money. But the ones that are driven and are either smoking hot, have personality in spades or fit a certain niche well probably do really well.

I think Cherrylula's stripper example is dead on. One night I went to a strip club with some friends. A dancer comes out and she is very hot, but she looks bored and acts like she could give a shit and doesn't get a lot of tips. When her songs are done she leaves and goes back to the dressing room. The next girl that comes out isn't as good looking, but she is a firecracker. Looks wise the first girl was a 9.5, the second girl is probably a solid 7.5, but she is fun, has a killer high energy routine and connects with the guys. The money was flying and guys were cheering and she was clearly having a good time with it. After her songs were done she made her rounds, thanked everyone and started doing private dances. She was booked on private dances until her next turn on stage. I would bet she made 10 times or more what the other girl made.

I would guess if you have the personality/looks and are willing to put in the hours, you can make some good money on live cams. Otherwise you might make the same amount as you would working at a regular job.
