Have you considered scripts like PHPFox or SocialEngine which both can be set up as dating sites. PHPFox also has a pretty active community of developers including myself who are happy to do custom work, although the majority of the time there is probably already a mod or addon out that will do what you need.

I want to point out I still think custom is better (don't want to put myself out of work)
