edit: ^^^ This guy bought it for his wife. That's the only explanation.
Don't go near first gen vipers. They have bondo'd hoods from the factory

Also, if you need parts, they are astronomically expensive. They also have inconsistent gaps between panels and are just generally the shitty 1980's daewoo of the viper.
The new vipers aren't really vipers. At least not in spirit. As the first few gens looked like a viper. The new ones don't conjure images of a snake at all. They just look like a sleek (albeit really heavy) sports car.
Don't expect much soundwise from their v10's. A v10 can sound absolutely incredible, just not the truck engines that powered the vipers. Basically, they sound terrible and don't make you think of a sports car when you hear one. They do make lots of torque, though. They will also rape your wallet if you enjoy them the way they were built to be enjoyed, because they will eat rear tires all day long. And their rear tires are HUGE.
Ignore the new ones, try to find one from like 1999 or 2000. New ones are for people who don't understand what the viper was all about. They got rid of the rawness of the sports car experience and replaced it with something your wife can drive. Interestingly enough, I've only ever seen women driving the new ones.
