To address Sly more appropriately,
No Sly, I do not expect the police to cater expensive dinners or fly people to vacation destinations or fund with cash. I expect the police to act accordingly to the position they are in and not murder people as a first option. If they cannot do that, they do not belong in the job. Period. If that is asking too much, then the police [insert favorite agency here] need to be disbanded until such time when they can staff themselves with more responsible adults.
It's amazing to me that I was sent to the other side of the planet once upon a time (Iraq), surrounded by actual enemies in a hostile country, in what is probably the most hostile area of the entire world, with enough ammo to kill thousands of people. Yet I never once killed anyone by "mistake", or because they threw a rock at me, or because it was time for my coffee break, or because I "accidentally" grabbed a firearm instead of my dick.
Why can't our police do the same?
