I know that I did 3 months in La Mesa Prison, and Calderon doesn't even need to step outside of his own country to see gross human rights violations.
3 months in a cell, 7 days per week, with 28 guys. We had 2 sets of bunk beds that stacked 3 beds high. About 2 feet wide, barely enough for a single person, yet we had to stack 2 per bunk! I spent $20/week for the privilege of not sleeping on the crowded floor with the rats; but in a bed with another Mexican and thousands of cockroaches. You'd wake up with them crawling on your body, and couldn't do fuck about it. Our cell was 10ftx10ft, that's 3.57 square feet of space per person. Of course we had our bathroom/shower/sink which occupied about 20 square feet of space; so now we are down to 2.8 square feet of living space per person.
You consider that humane???
Or how about the time the guards beat the shit out of a prisoner at the courthouse because he wouldn't tell them where he hid his cell phone? (I had my own cell in prison, contraband was massive and they always tried to sell me shit first since I got cash regularly) Yea; it was either get my ass handed to me with the butts of some guns or tell them. Let's just say my next 2 days in prison I didn't sleep at all because I thought I might be branded a rat.
I love Mexico, but fuck you and your anti-American ranting. There is no human rights in Mexico, let alone tasers which are supposed to only knock you out.
