Not exactly Singapore in terms of ease of business, transparency, and lack of corruption



That's why the oligopolies are making life hell here for a lot of people. The key thing to keep in mind is that this is a common pattern in many poor economies (Mexico and the Philippines and others). Unequal economic playing field, monopolies, and lots of barriers to real competition. Wages stay low, jobs are few, prices are high. When people migrate out and send money back, monopolists are happy cuz there's even more money to fuel the system.
That's why I think ECONOMIC REFORMS are the real solution to illegal immigration BUT, as pointed above, it takes TWO TO TANGO. There has to be political will in the country where the migrants are coming from in order to produce the much needed economic reforms.
