It's pretty much like a Paypal account. You piggyback on top of their merchant account.
It's instant setup. It just takes forever to get the dongle, because they've just started rolling them out.
I've been signed up for a month now and mine hasn't shown up. My buddy got his in the first batch...they shipped to iPad users first, because that's where the app debuted first.
It's a pretty cool little system and they're pushing it pretty hard. The main guy behind it, was the guy who came up with Twitter.
