I know one guy that served in Afghanistan and went on to serve with some bad ass Rangers. When he was 9 month old, he was adopted by American parents from Columbia. Army found out and made him renounce his Columbian citizenship. he has never been to Columbia or ever held Columbian passport BUT he was a dual citizen.

Then he clearly was a Columbian Citizen when he was adopted, and I assume because was born after 1975 he can't keep both. That's how Columbia runs it I guess and an example of America dealing with special situations.
