Cops can be retarded. One time when I was working corporate there was a blizzard and the only way I could get in was by catching a ride with a neighbor -- he left at 3 AM so I opted to go in at 3 AM. It turns out that my access card that was supposed to grant me 24 hour access had restricted hours. My ride left and I was freezing. I tried one of the warehouse doors and one of the idiots left it unlocked and un-alarmed.
I walked through to the office which was never locked (the warehouse to office interior door) but on a separate zone and the alarm goes of. I go outside and wait for the police. I explain what happened, showed them my access card and how it was recognized but restricted. Showed them my business card, the GM's business card and explained how I had to come in early because of the blizzard if I wanted in at all and that I was supposed to have unrestricted access.
Out came the guns -- one stayed on me while the other cop scoured the place with his drawn.
It all ended peacefully with some phone calls from the alarm company to the GM.
