I use no anti-virus software of any kind on OS X or Win7. No problems.
Windows Defender runs on my Win7 install, only because it comes with it. On the OS X machines, I run Little Snitch, which is an inbound & outbound firewall that locks you down tight and requires your approval to allow connections. (not free)
