It was never about giving a shit about any oppressed people or looking for WMDs or hunting down Osama. If we don't control the oil, we are controlled and held hostage by it. Obama is just the public face of our country. Some agendas are bigger than the Pres.
The reason Obama got picked over McCain was Obama wasn't Bush

As far as the oil, I agree, but forcing the country to go green when the economy is SHIT is the mark of an idiot
We should be drilling in ANWR, we should be using new technology drilling in the ocean, and we should have regulation of oil companies that do more than line the politicians pockets. Then we can get rid of the dependence, and at that point, our economy can support going to greener fuels.

Pubic face or not, he's still an asshat

If we were to drill for our own oil and even supply other countries, the middle east would go bankrupt, kinda like Reagan did with Starwars in bankrupting the USSR

Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
think about that
