thank you! enjoy you new little buddy. they really are great dogs, and as someone mentioned previously, they benefit from a great owner, which it sounds like you are.

Needed a pin and a screw. Not sure how much the whole ordeal set me back, the surgery itself was $3k. I think I made it out all said and done still shy of $4k. What a fucking nightmare that was. Sorry to hear you went through this also.
I love my little butter bean though, he's worth every cent.

wow, they are fragile when they're pups eh. i know exactly the ordeal you went through. my guy's situation was made worse because the jerk vet didn't have a small enough screw so he just used the smallest one he had, which literally poked out the other side of the knee joint and broke through the skin after awhile and caused a massive infection.
we had to keep the pin in for longer, the infection didn't stop, more xrays showed the infection near the bone and the bones weren't fusing together correctly and after 3 months we had to take the pin out. now it's a mass of bone and a *fake joint* he'll still favor that leg and will be bothered by it sometimes, like when walking in thick grass.
i keep him on glucosamine 2x daily and that helps a lot.
