Amazing how a guy who's right on so many things, can also be completely wrong on others. There's nothing wrong with wage labor. People are free to offer their time/service in exchange for money. The whole "industrial feudalism" problem is caused by the lack of economic freedom: the "
price mechanism" is constantly being manipulated by the introduction of the concept of "legal tender" and the activities of commercial banks and central banks (activities that in a free market system would be impossible because they would be exposed for what they really are: fraud). The resulting inflation (often described as a 'tax on the poor') and the ever growing government regulation that discourages sound business practices are just 2 examples of how Corporatism (the symbiosis of government power and big business) widens the gap between the 'poor' and the 'super rich'.
Chomsky fails to see that the solution to improving your situation is more economic freedom. His proposal: anarcho-syndicalism (in this video he calls it 'socialism') with community owned factors of production, can only work if force is used to convert privately owned factors of production into community owned factors of production. Because the method by which this force is applied will eventually always be abused, anarcho-syndicalism will in the end always turn into the Corporatis system we have today.
