Apparently wiping the phone does not deactivate it and the person that bought my phone was texting some chick and harassing her to the point where she called the cops.

I had forwarded my mobile number to my home phone so when the cops called my mobile number it rang here. The cop was pretty cool about it after I explained it was not me texting from the phone and asked for all the info on the sale and who bought it.

Remember to deactivate your number! You can always reactivate it on AT&T's website when your new phone arrives.
