Been using linux since the early days, 1994, Im using Centos atm , I have tried out about 50+ distros, I love Ubunu and mint is cool but I have come to the conclusion that any distro claiming to be radically different are doing nothing more than providing a different set of applications and desktop backgrounds etc, If you are just messing around and geeking then use multi boot, you can run several distros along with your windows7 to see which you like best.

and yes mint is cool but nothing too special.
