The days of the old west pretty much prove everyone arming themsleves is recipe for disaster.
Criminals having guns is bad enough. God forbid Im somewhere and not only the criminal has a gun but 3 or 4 dirty harry wannabbe that can't shoot the broadside of a barn are there too. Talk about a total clusterfuck. Also when the cops get there and there is all this gunfire WHO are the cops going to shoot? How are they suppose to tell the good guys form the bad ones? If only the bad guy had the gun it's be pretty easy for the snipers to know which head to blow off.
