You'll notice all of your replies were from people interested in saying hi to a newbie,
not in helping you with your question. There's a reason for that. The subject line
you used was: "I'm a dumb fucking newbie - can anyone help?" You got responses
from people who were interested in the subject you posted - you being a newbie.
If you'd like to get help with increasing your conversion rate, try a post with a
subject such as "Increasing conversion rate". That will get people who are interested
in talking about increasing conversions to read your post. Then, in your post talk about
what you've tried and how it worked, or say something about what you've read that
may be of use to others. By doing that, you start a conversation and give people interested
in the topic a REASON to engage in conversation with you. If you are too lazy to type a
few sentences on the subject, after maybe reading a post or page about it, you are simply
being selfish, wanting other people to do your work for you, and this will be reflected in
the quality of replies you get. Perhaps the most helpful reply you would get from an
empty post like that would be "use the search function and read the answers from the
last 300 times the topic was discussed".
However, if you use the search function FIRST and read prior threads about the topic, you
are then not only educated about the subject, but you are prepared to pose an intelligent
question based on what you've read, and thereby start an interesting and informative discussion.
