British Childhood Obesity Rate Twice That Of U.S.
Children in the UK are getting fat at twice the rate of their American counterparts.
More than 30 percent of British kids between 5 and 13 are already obese. Four years from now, the number is expected to reach a stunning 40 percent.
And it?s not just because of the fish and chips or other fried food. According to a study, British families among other things spend about $560 per year on candy and chocolate for their kids?roughly equivalent to 850 Mars bars, as compared with $225 on this side of the pond. The study also claims that British children also eat more sugary breakfast cereals and ice cream than American kids.
