Americans don't have a chance.. they put high fructose corn syrup in anything affordable, there are growth hormones in most milk available and beef. Super fatty foods are cheap as dirt.. Sure you can say vegetables are cheap and affordable but most grocery stores aren't around the corner anymore with suburban neighbourhoods now so going shopping becomes less frequent because of that.
Also 1 in 4 is a loaded number, because that is based on the bmi calculator which is not exactly a perfect scale.. if you work out every day are very health conscious but go heavy in the weight room you could be considered obese by that calculator just the same. I was considered obese when i finished my first full marathon and running 10k a day..
I think the term obese that we think of, that also angers us, are the marshmallow people that need scooters to get around because of their size. I saw one at a burgerking drive through the other day... was pretty sweet... however that number is not as high as 1 in 4...
