Agreed. Magazines pay next to nothing these days. American Curves gives $800 for a cover and $400 for a layout, so thats cool when I get that. Maxim pays up to $1200 an image depending on who the shot is of. If its one of these B list up and coming actresses/game show girls/reality show girls they pay ok. I make most my money off portfolio work and my rates are arent even that expensive, $600-$1500. I would probably shoot for $300, but it would be one look and 1 retouch. Would take me all of 30-45 minutes. No way I work half a day for $300, but quite a few will I guess so thats cool.
