It does mean something as there are many hosts who actually have it in their terms that they do not allow pornographic material. Really you don't want to host with such people if you can help it. The number of hosts doing this are far less than there once was. Most gladly accept adult as long as it is legal.
That said, yes, generally I notice that hosts who market directly to adult webmasters tend to be a little pricier but not in all cases. To be fair I notice that many people here expect a lot of hand holding (managed servers, support) and adult sites often tend to pull more resources than vanilla sites.
