Stuart,

.XXX provides nothing of value over current .com domains... absolutely nothing. Everything you pitch is nothing but "what ifs" and "imagine ifs"... all based on conjecture and some impossible scenario where, "consumers knew, for a fact, that they would only be dealing with ethical porn businesses"... This is just as likely to happen with .com as it is with .xxx... A TLD does NOT inherently provide this on any level what so ever...

.xxx is nothing but a scheme to generate a lot of revenue... It is QUITE obvious that you do NOT have the industry behind you. You cite pre-registrations as industry support but this has absolutely nothing to do with support and EVERYTHING to do with securing intellectual property rights for currently registered domains. Your entire basis for "support" is driven by fear... You argue it's "optional" but every businessman and woman who is involved in anything online related know this is a complete farce. Securing your intellectual property rights is not an OPTION. You are either naive, outright lying, or just placing a marketing spin on it.

You pitch a new "PayPal style" payment system as an opportunity when really it's nothing but another business model that you can leverage to make even more cash off of the industry. You aren't being straight forward with anyone here, you're simply hiding behind semantics and marketing hype.

"If however the registration levels vastly exceed our initial projections then we would have scope to consider a reduction in price." Yet more bullshit, they only time this would be considered and re-factored is when registrations slow to a point where lowering the cost would become more profitable (e.g. the lowered costs would drive enough new registrations to outweigh the renewals weighted against renewal rates) . Do you really expect us to believe that a business is going to do something not in its own best interests? Give me a break.

You have also not fairly addressed the concern of censorship of the .xxx tld via possible filtering. It is far easier to filter sites via domain than it is ANY OTHER METHOD. This will undoubtedly reduce traffic over the entire span of .xxx to some degree. This is not an opinion, this is a FACT. To what degree remains to be seen but I can guarantee that the more support .xxx gains, the more service providers, companies, etc..., looking to filter adult content from their establishment / service, will consider the option of just blocking .xxx as the implementation is stupid simple. The penultimate, Armageddon version of this is when federal governments decide they want to shut down porn. Don't say it isn't possible because Australia is already rapidly encroaching in that territory...

Now tell me again... what are the benefits to using .xxx over .com? Why would anyone want such a thing other than to capitalize on some one word domains? and even then at the cost of losing some amount of traffic due to stupid simple filtering...
