Some people don't think things through. The most I've ever spent on any of my three weddings was probably on the first one. Traveled to Denmark.... honeymooned in Spain... etc. It was probably a few thousand bucks. But I did it on a military salary which is peanuts, and without going into debt. The most I've ever spent on rings was for my current wife, and it was a shit ton. But... that was back in the days of the big porn money raining from the sky, and I had money to wipe my ass with. The wedding was just this last January, and we did it cheap. Less than $1k in Vegas. Simple, fun, easy... done.

Wrong. The divorce rate is so high because people are simply incompatible with others. Even the people that have been married 40 years will tell you, it's a lot of work & compromise. Think of it like this.... spend every single day with your best male buddy, on the notion that you'll be doing it for the rest of your life, and see how long it takes to get into an argument. Share a bank account with him and see how long money "issues" pop up. Some choose to work through those times, others divorce. It has nothing to do with the cost of the wedding.
