Generic run of the mill porn, that you can see on any tube site simply doesn't sell as well... and in the coming years, forget it. Doesn't take a math genious to crunch the numbers.

You do understand that even "rare niche" content makes it onto tube sites. That it is just as easy to steal a twin video as it is a solo video? You miss the point and the problem by a thousands miles. Sure twin content has less competition from OTHER PAY SITES, but it will just as easy end up on tube sites where your shit will be given away for free just like everyone's shit. "Rare" content or not. does not matter, only difference is if you have a small amount of members it might take longer for your content to make it to the tube site, but it will you can count on it.

Good luck with your theory, hope you will last out till the recovery and pray that customers lost during the depression will return. I've worked in this business for over 30 years and through many recessions, we used to be immune to them. Plus the downturn happened before the recession, it just made it worse..

Paul I will stop you right there. First of all you can't say "I've worked in this industry for 30 years and we have had many recessions" etc. " Online has only been around for about 15 years. We can't take cash online, like a brick and mortar store. Since we rely about 98% on CREDIT CARDS, then as credit cards go, so do us. Over the last 2-3 years it has been well documented that MILLIONS of people have had their available balances removed and now these people have no funds left. There is also record high people going default, extremely high unemployment and foreclosures. It isn't just a "recession" we have had what amounts to a big percentages of potential buyers go bye bye. Our market has shrunk big time. People are still out there looking at porn, and several of them are trying to buy but they are being declined and their rebills are being declined because they do not have sufficient funds available.
When someone is bankrupt and loses their cards, or maxed out and 3 months behind where are they suppose to shit the money to make the transaction go through. Do some research see how this has become a huge problem in the last couple years, more so than any point since the net has been around. Can't compare this to offline, people can always scrape up some cash to go to the strip club, buy from a physical porn shop, etc. but not online.
