Quoted for truth. My daughter started being a pain in the ass at 11 and the only thing that tempered it was me cracking down hard in this exact way. You want me to provide you internet access and a cell phone? Well guess what, if I pay for it then it belongs to me and don't expect me not to monitor what you do with my property. And a bad report card means both internet and cell phone are locked away until I see a report card with nothing but A's & B's on it... so that means at least 9 weeks without those privileges that I pay for.
Kids have plenty of friends and parents of friends acting like friends... they need the parents to be parents... to care what they do and how they act and to react accordingly.
