If I had to put my finger on it I would have to say sometime after he did the solo thing Social Distortion shows felt more like watching someone earning a paycheck. Not shitting on him, he's become very professional and there's also something positive to be said that even though it's predictable that it is still also quality. I guess it's kind of like a vegas show- if you see it one time you're statisfied, but if you see it multiple times the correography gets stale and the jokes get tired. You can set your watch by the one liners.

Kind of why I skip out on alot of the reunion shows. Some shows are always awesome no matter what the age- Pogues for example or Iggy Pop. They put on shows that are engaging, they do things that are spontaneous, you can see them a million times and it still feels as good as the first time. It's a paycheck for everyone, I get that, but I just don't want to feel that from the band at the end of the night. The way I see it I can listen to the music anytime, I go to the show for the experience.
