In my dream I realize that my mom is not there and BOOM, I'm running shit in my dream until I wake up. Just like that.
Wish I could do it every time but I can't.

I usually have freaky vivid dreams if the room is AC cold. Concerning the weird time stuff in the movie -- I remember having a this long epic dream that ended with me watching a rocket take off, then crash in huge loud fireball. When I woke up, it was in the middle of a thunderclap during a storm. Try to figure out the temporal implications of that. How can my mind come up with this complicated dream to lead up to a crash that coincides with the noise outside? There's no such thing as time in that fucked up world.
The end of Jacob's Ladder goes into this also -- Jacob lived an entire alternate life inside of his head during the seconds he was dying on the battlefield.
