Personally, I think anyone in the paysite game (or entering it today) needs to calculate break-even points, etc. with that level of conversion in mind. This will also doubtless affect WHAT a paysite entails and the type / amount of content the customer expects for their cash -- but given the bounty of tubes today, you won't get away with content like the old "blowout" sites, with a handful of Z-Master galleries and some old feeds.
So, what can we do to please customers and PROFIT at 1:100,000?

1:100,000? Really? Has it gotten that bad for people out there? If a program doesn't do better than 1:2000 they won't get more links.
Outside of pop unders, my three worst ratios this month are 1:1735, 1:1371, 1:1101.
The three best are 1:41, 1:314 and 1:492.
Mostly tube, blog and TGP traffic.
I did not include programs I stopped actively promoting ... like one I am trying to filter out (still have some links here and there usually in blog posts) where it is 0:2227 for the month.
