Obama's advisers studied economics as well. They also made very broad claims about how this and that would be completely different by now. Except that didn't really happen.
Point being... nobody cares that you studied economics. Thousands and thousands of people study economics. Thousands and thousands of people still get it wrong. Studying economics means you know more than than the average Joe, sure, it definitely doesn't mean you aren't wrong.
