Kids have plenty of friends and parents of friends acting like friends... they need the parents to be parents... to care what they do and how they act and to react accordingly.

heh, i can only imagine what you were probably like as a kid. its funny seeing all these people saying they are 'cracking down' on their kids but their kids aren't stupid and know what you are doing and know its all 'do as i say, not as i do' which they feel is total bullshit. your kids will probably learn how to lie and hide things, just like you (not you personally but parents in general) and could seem like the ideal kid to you but be doing god knows what out of your view.
