People don't eat more than one sandwich per month? You will not find anyone in ANY other line of business telling their customers about competitors without being prompted. It is shortsighted and the programs suggesting it here are outing themselves as fucking morons of the highest degree. It's not that every single customer you send somewhere else will be a net loss to you but overall it has a negative effect. This has been going on forever, who knows where rebills would be if everyone weren't so God damned stupid.
Since you want to continue the food analogy I'll help you out.
People eat 3 times per day. Some people find a restaurant and it is THEIR ABSOLUTE FAVORITE FOOD so they eat there all the time. Well they did, until the owner told them about a better shop just around the corner.
