Inflation was pretty bad back then
Reagan cut it in half

But Clinton's NAFTA had nothing to do with the manufacturing base collapsing.

The top 1% is a real catch phrase for certain people. The "working man" (read unions) made US steel industry uncompetitive, just as the auto industry and any other industry strangulated by organized labor. We can argue the pros and cons of moving from a manufacturing based economy to a service based economy until we are blue in the face (and you might find we really agree). We can argue the pros and cons of large labor unions forever. None of this changes what is happening today.
I have asked what has Obama done to correct the situation now? To answer Bush fucked the economy up is not an answer. To blame trickle down economics is not an answer. There is an answer, but I am not sure anyone that reads this board knows it

Yeah, eat the rich, that's all they have to say and Blame Bush
while workers on the auto line were making $90 an hour and getting huge retirements, now look at Detroit
Fucking Idiots still saying "Bush Did it" when they should be asking "What has Barry done to fix it?"

Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
think about that
