This has nothing to do with Beck's political views, but he has a fan base that truly believes in him and he tells them to buy gold in a way that is probably the least efficient way to get into the gold market and he obviously knows it.
If anything, it shows he could care less about his viewers/fans. If you watch or listen to his show, he plays it up like he is he is looking out for them and working hard to help them. Often nearly breaking down into tears.
If you enjoy watching Glen Beck, that's totally fine. I just think some people don't realize he is an entertainer and a showman, not a political expert or a historian or anything else.
Even if you are a conservative, you have to admit that divisive and manipulative figures like him do damage to the public discourse. The same way people on the left who run around trying to capture Republicans on video saying something stupid end up doing more harm than good.
As "Americans" we need to realize these people on the left and right like Glen Beck are making millions by turning us all against each other. The banks, the oil companies, and the super rich are running away with all the money while Americans are blaming their middle class neighbors for all of the country's problems because they are a "liberal" or a "conservative".
If you buy into this whole liberal vs. conservative crap, it means you have been played buy a huge money making operation that only benefits the super rich. Because they can continue twisting the rules and stealing all the money while the uneducated masses fight each other over the latest youtube video of Glen Beck or Keith Olberman.
