It will never happen as long as we "play ball". I can argue with conservatives and liberals all day because most only HEAR their indoctrinated view point. "Well, you believe this so you are on our side" mentality and "the others want to end your way of life". Both parties want us to choose sides and fight each other and not pay attention to what's going on in Washington. They are free to sell whatever the highest bidder will pay for whatever they will pay. The reason we had a banking crisis is not because of democrats or republicans.... it was both. They got paid to play ball with the banks, both sides are guilty. What did GW do to help the economy........ play fast and loose with accounting practices. But obama has changed nothing. If we were really to know how bad things are we would have instant chaos.
As bad as the housing industry was/is(I still know people that haven't made a mortgage payment in 18 months), the commercial loan situation is far worse and far more money. I know they are trying to clean it up gradually and quietly, but the real reason for this mess is the political system we have. Anyone with a brain knows we dont need a star bucks every half block in every major city. We dont need a best buy every half mile. We dont need a walmart supercenter every 2 miles. Easy money is a myth.
So when we (as independents) engage in mudslinging contests, with those on either side, we only entrench them deeper in their beliefs.
I have asked maybe half a dozen times here and maybe 50 times on the boards I frequent, what has obama done for the economy? I am waiting for 1 democrat or 1 republican to tell me. Pro or con, not 1 person has answered the question. I know the answer, but I am not sure anyone else knows. If we continue to get played by Jon stewart and Rush Limbaugh and that sycophant glenn beck, we will continue to spiral toward mediocrity. And maybe it's what we deserve for being fat, lazy and spoiled for the majority of our lives.
