I live with my brother he has a phone if I need to call some one I can. Its so liberating to be off the grid in that sense no nagging calls.
As for emergencies unless you go out to the bush then your ok, My buddy and me did a test to make a point about how many people have phones. He pretended to trip in public on a sidewalk and I yelled does anyone have a phone! 22 people within 60ft had phones. To there surprise we counted them and got up and walked away.
So I say to everyone unplug for a day (except the internet) and you will feel so good.
