That sounds amazing.
And you are right, as it says in the article they would spend time on different islands, doing camping, hiking, learning about local customs and such. It seems their longest stretch was staying in New Zealand for 18 months. They said they would have stayed even longer but for paperwork difficulties.
They started out in the Caribbean, sailed through the Panama Canal, all over the South Pacific, Indian Ocean, back across the Atlantic...what an adventure!
