The quality of the components and the processes used to merge them. I've had top-of-the-line PCs and top-of-the-line Macs. The Macs are still running. The PCs are long gone sitting in a landfill. That means something. PCs might be a little cheaper up front, but how many do you need to buy to last as long as one Mac?
