Actually, I was shocked to hear they were still around, but I did like their stuff (and from your blog entry, it sounds like they ripped the place up - and I know that with your background, you'd be the one to really know). The Ozzy stuff during the show sounds like it would have been a kick, too. (Although I'm sure Brad Gillis was great, it still wouldnt be quite the same without the fucking prince of darkness; we saw Ozzy a few years ago when he was touring here with Rob Zombie, and despite his loss of brain fuction he still kicked ass.)
(That show also gave us a bit of a startle the next day, too, when we went for a pre-natal visit to my wife's OB/GYN ---an older and very sedate, well-respected chief of obstetrics at a major metropolitan hospital --- who immediately started reminiscing about *his* first Black Sabbath show when he was still in school. We weren't sure if that made us more or less comfortable about him delivering our baby
Either way, Night Ranger sure sounds a lot better than the last "show" we saw in Vegas --- a cover band that prevented us from hearing the dealers while we were trying to play at O'Shea's last week
